PROJECTS & CASE STUDIES

JJM Consultancy personnel have contributed to a wide range of well engineering projects including drilling, well integrity management and well decommissioning across oil, gas and emerging energy storage developments. Our experience spans the full lifecycle of wells, from concept and design through to operations, integrity management and plug and abandonment. The projects and case studies below highlight representative examples of the professional experience of JJM personnel across Australia and internationally, including work undertaken throughout their careers both within JJM Consultancy and in previous roles within the industry.

Artificial Lift Installation for Gas Well Liquid Loading

JJM personnel were providing asset support in the form of production optimisation and reservoir surveillance for an operator. Routine well monitoring including the running of SGS and modelling of tubing inflow performance identified that liquid loading due to reduced reservoir pressures and increased condensate production would result in substantially reduced estimated ultlimate recover of gas from the well.

Exploration Well Drilled and Completed

A Queensland operator’s exploration work program required the drilling of a ~2800mMD exploration step out well.

JJM personnel were responsible for the design, tender and execution of the well delivery and subsequent initial completion in strict compliance with state codes of practice.

Surface-to-Inseam Gas Drainage Program for Longwall Mining

Due to high virgin methane content in a future long wall mining location, a coal mining company had a requirement to accelerate mine gas drainage operations beyond their usual underground drilling program with the use of oil and gas style directional drilling technology. The application of “surface to inseam” drilling enabled accelerated gas drainage of the long wall panel area ahead of mine development activities.
